Sigiriya and Dambulla Trip
 
Another one day excursion for Ayurveda Hotel Maho. Sigiriya, once nominated to be a “Wonder of the world” an ancient fortress of a king of Sri Lanka is world famous touristic icon. The way the King has fortified his kingdom to safeguard his palace from invasions on top of the rock cliff and the technology used is a jaw dropper even today. Some fountains in the garden are still intact with their water flows. Dambulla Cave Temple is also an UNESCO named world heritage site and you can see some amazing ancient paintings. A must see place. The itinerary is as follows
 
6AM – Leave to Sigiriya Rock Fortress
 

8 AM – Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress and paintings of Kings Pleasure Garden Beauties. After descending if you fancy an Elephant back ride we can take you to Habarana, a 30 minutes drive from Sigiriya to do this activity.
